See Swansea by Cycle!

After an intense month of raising money through a Crowdfunding campaign, in December we saw Swansea University win the Santander Cycles University Challenge, which will see the first cycle share scheme in Wales come to Swansea in the Spring.

Thanks to overwhelming support from University staff, students, local businesses, councils and the generous Swansea community,  Swansea University raised an incredible £100,000.

There will be five docking stations located at key points across the city, starting and finishing on both University campuses. This is great news for our event, conference and summer school delegates who wish to make the most of their time in Swansea by exploring the delights that our wonderful city has to offer.

Swansea is part of the Celtic Trail and National Cycle Network, which makes it the perfect city to be explored by bicycle, with fantastic cycle routes that connect the city, whilst offering stunning views of Swansea Bay. A number of our delegates travel to Swansea by public transport, so this bike share scheme is an excellent opportunity for them to be able to explore the city at their own pace, whilst also offering the added benefits of beating city traffic, and improving general health and well-being.

With 50 bikes in place at 100 docking stations located at 5 hubs across the city, the world of Swansea will be your oyster!
