Winter Degree Ceremonies Take Place at Bay Campus
Celebration is in the air this week as we host our winter graduation ceremonies and receptions on our beautiful Bay Campus.
Hundreds of students from all seven Academic Colleges are graduating over the course of the week in a series of stunning ceremonies which are taking place in the 700 seat Sir Stanley Clarke Auditorium.
The ceremonies will be followed by graduation receptions in the Core, which has been transformed from a busy student food court into a stunning high end event venue.
During the receptions, graduates and their friends and families will be treated to a delightful menu of hot and cold canapés including brie & black grape skewers, smoked salmon blinis, king prawn rolls, sweet potato curry turnovers, red lamb koftas, mini fish and chips and Hoisin duck rolls. Sweet treats include macaroons and a “taste of Wales” with welsh cakes & bara brith.
For those students who prefer to celebrate their graduations in less formal style, a range of pop-up catering solutions have been located across the campus including hot food huts serving soups, bowl food and hot dogs, as well as mulled wine and fruit punches. And for those who want to celebrate in true Swansea University style – there is of course the beach!
Ben Lucas, Head of Development & Income Generation in Swansea University’s Estates & Facilities Management Directorate said:
“Our Event Services and Catering teams have worked incredibly hard over the last few months, together with colleagues from all seven of the University’s Academic Colleges to ensure that our Winter Graduation provides an exceptional experience for our graduating students, their families and the staff who have played such a fundamental part in the students’ success.
